Wallenius Wilhelmsen opens Brunswick Terminal

Wallenius Wilhelmsen celebrates the official opening of its South Atlantic hub, the Brunswick terminal.

“Brunswick is well positioned with its facilities and infrastructure investments to facilitate further growth in the US,” said John Felitto, COO Logistics Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. “We are pleased to announce the official opening of our terminal, Equipment Processing Center (EPC) and Vehicle Processing Center (VPC).”

The opening of the terminal at the Atlantic Port in Georgia marks another strategic investment for the Wallenius Wilhelmsen Group, as a 20-year lease agreement has been signed with the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), with options for up to 30 years.

“With this investment, we are strengthening our commitment to further serve the American market and expand the scope of our South Atlantic operations,” emphasises Felitto. “Brunswick is well positioned with its facilities and infrastructure investments to facilitate further growth in the US. Our integrated offering at the terminal demonstrates our capabilities as an integrated logistics provider.”

“We look forward to enhancing our services at Brunswick and being even better equipped to expand our offering to the South Atlantic,” he adds. The investment in the facility and infrastructure would ensure that Wallenius Wilhelmsen can seamlessly handle increasing domestic and international cargo volumes in the coming years.

“Our customers live in a constantly changing environment. Especially now, it is changing very quickly. Their situation and their needs will continue to change in the future,” says Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. “That’s why we need to be flexible so that we can develop our services to meet their needs.”

Connecting terminal and maritime services

“Brunswick is a purpose-built and modern facility that gives us this flexibility, Synnermann continues. Operational efficiency and a smoother supply chain would be ensured by utilising services across the terminal’s offering. “Our trucking capabilities through our sister company KEEN, EPC, VPC, terminal and ocean services enhance connectivity and demonstrate the strength of integrated services between ocean transportation and land-based services. We look forward to continuing our strategic partnership with GPA as we continue to grow and future-proof the Brunswick Terminal over the next 20 years.”

Griff Lynch, president and CEO of Georgia Ports, added: “We are pleased to partner with Wallenius Wilhelmsen and support their long-term growth plans here in the US. The size, scale and world-class facilities of the Port of Brunswick will position WW to succeed with new supply chain opportunities.”
