A change in leadership is set to take place at the shipbroker MB Shipbrokers at the turn of the year. Claes Devantier will take over the role of CEO from Anders Hald on 1 January 2027. At the same time, the board of directors will be expanded.
Devantier is currently Deputy CEO of MB Shipbrokers. His predecessor, Anders Hald, will take over as Chair of the Board of Directors at the start of the year. He is set to remain operationally involved with the company and continue to carry out commercial activities. The new Deputy CEO will be Claus Plougmand, who will continue to carry out his duties from Singapore.
According to MB Shipbrokers, the change in leadership is intended to involve the next generation more closely in the management of the company whilst ensuring continuity in the core business areas.
As part of the reorganisation, the Executive Board will also be expanded. New members joining the Executive Board are Adam Joshua Phillips, Global Head of Bulk Carriers and Tankers S&P; Bjarne Wium-Ullerichs, Global Head of Bulk Chartering; Kasper Holm-Hemmingsen, Global Head of Container S&P and Valuations, and Lars Schiønnemann, Global Head of Newbuilding.
The Executive Board will therefore comprise eight members from 1 January 2027. Alongside CEO Devantier and Deputy CEO Plougmand, Henrik Franck as COO and Anne Brown Pade as CFO will remain part of the company’s management.

Founded in 1914, the company operated for many years under the name Maersk Broker. At the end of 2023, the management and staff acquired the company from the Mc-Kinney Møller family and subsequently renamed it MB Shipbrokers. Today, the brokerage firm employs around 240 staff across 17 locations worldwide.
