Experts wanted: Engine manufacturers plan major Cimac congress

After the successful last edition, which included more than 700 experts from all over the world, planning for the next Cimac Congress is in full swing at the engine manufacturers’ association Cimac.

In 2023, there were more than 200 presentations at the CIMAC Congress, which took place in the South Korean metropolis[ds_preview].

The “Call for Papers” for the 2025 Cimac Congress, which will take place in Zurich from May 19 to 23, 2025, has now been launched. The organisers are inviting proposals from the fields of energy, drive and control technology.

The topic strands are “digitalization”, “towards net zero”, “engine optimisation & retrofits”, “basic research and advanced engineering” and “operators perspective”.

“High importance of the Cimac Congress”

“We have received almost 800 abstracts for the 2023 congress,” says Jonas Åkermann, one of the two vice presidents for the technical program, “and we expect a similar number for 2025.” Around 200 will be accepted for full presentations.

Klaus Heim, also Vice President for the Technical Program, says the high quality of the papers submitted and the difficulty of selection underline the importance of this congress for the entire industry. “I am sure that the Cimac Congress will once again provide an excellent opportunity to meet manufacturers, colleagues and customers from across the industry and around the world,” he says.

The deadline for the submission of abstracts is 30 June 2024, and the electronic paper system (EPS) will be used.
