David Williams, previously Vice President and Managing Director of the Africa region at Maersk, has been responsible for the division as Global Head since the beginning of the year. The South African is based at the Leschaco headquarters in Bremen and succeeds Maximilian Nause, who is moving to the position of Global Head of Sales.

Williams has worked for Maersk since 1991, during which time he was, among other things, head of the former subsidiary Safmarine. In his new role, he will primarily be responsible for strategic initiatives and the further development of Leschaco’s global tank container activities. The Bremen-based forwarding company, which specializes in chemical products and has its own agencies in 24 countries, manages its own fleet of over 5,000 tank containers for overseas transport. In addition to providing the containers, Leschaco organizes the entire door-to-door transport.

As the company’s new Head of Sales, Maximilian Nause will be responsible for driving forward the implementation of a new sales strategy in the coming years. The business administration graduate has been working for Leschaco since 2013. The position of Global Head of Sales, which he holds, has been newly created as part of a centralization of responsibilities in the area, a company spokeswoman explained at the request of HANSA.
