Remontowa: Third order in 30 days

Remontowa Shipbuilding has been awarded a contract to build a new multi-purpose rescue vessel for the Polish Maritime Rescue Service.

The new SAR vessel will be deployed for maritime safety operations. These include search and rescue operations, combating hazards and marine pollution, fire-fighting operations, as well as emergency towing and rescue assistance services.

The vessel will be 65 m long and 13 m wide. It will be powered by four generator sets, each with an output of 1,900 kW, enabling it to reach a speed of 15 kn.

“It is a great honour for us. This is already the third contract we have signed in the past 30 days. Following two survey vessels from the SAFE programme, today we are signing the contract for the third vessel for the Polish government, which also serves the cause of safety in the broadest sense,” explained Adam Ruszkowski, CEO of Remontowa Holding S .A.

The project is co-financed by the EU’s Infrastructure, Climate and Environment Programme (FEnIKS) and the Polish national budget.
