The Hittfeld-based battery specialist Lehmann Marine wants to grow internationally and is opening two new branches in the Netherlands and Norway.
Around a year ago, the Sunlight Group, which has its roots in Greece, acquired a majority stake in Lehmann Marine. One of the reasons: To exploit growth potential. This is now to be achieved through a broader network of offices. “With new branches in Eindhoven and Trondheim, the company is strengthening its local presence in two of the most strategically important maritime markets in Europe,” it said in a statement today.
The Benelux region and Norway play a central role in the further development of battery solutions for shipping throughout Europe. By setting up dedicated local teams, Lehmann Marine aims to enable more direct communication and seamless project execution for its partners. “This expansion is an important milestone in Lehmann Marine’s structured European growth strategy,” it continues.

The new locations will function as regional sales and coordination offices. Ruben Wansink is responsible for the Benelux region, while Ola Staverløkk is in charge of Lehmann Marine’s business in Norway. Both sales managers reportedly have more than 20 years of experience in the maritime industry.
“With an established customer base and a growing number of projects across the Benelux region, the new office in Eindhoven provides a permanent local presence to support the expanding regional portfolio,” Lehmann Marine added. Eindhoven is considered one of Europe’s leading high-tech locations and has a world-renowned research, development and manufacturing focus, particularly in the field of advanced battery technology.
With regard to Norway as a business area, it is said that the country remains “one of the leading markets for maritime electrification and alternative propulsion systems”. The new office in Trondheim is intended to facilitate closer cooperation with local customers and partners – including system integrators, electrical installation companies, ship owners and ship designers. There will be improved on-site support, while new customers will have access to Lehmann Marine’s LFP battery systems.
Ola Staverløkk said: “With the Trondheim office’s convenient location in the harbor area, where several cruise ships arrive and depart daily, our goal of one day equipping these major players with Lehmann Marine’s battery modules does not seem impossible. Until then, Norway offers us an extremely dynamic environment for sustainable growth and long-term partnerships.”
Ruben Wansink added: “The Benelux region is at the forefront of innovation and is setting the pace for an environmentally conscious, green future of shipping. The Netherlands has a thriving superyacht industry where electrification and hybrid propulsion are on the rise. Many shipowners operate fleets for offshore wind power, dredging and transportation, as well as a very large inland trading fleet, which means that the demand for batteries is high. In addition, with our Eindhoven office, we are centrally located in the heart of Belgium and the Netherlands and close to technology developers.”
