The Greek ship manager Heidmar has acquired Q-Shipping B.V. The acquisition adds nine vessels and offices in the Netherlands, Turkey and Ukraine to its portfolio.
Heidmar Maritime Holding has completed the acquisition of Q-Shipping. The company, which is based in Athens and New York, is thereby expanding its activities in ship management and crewing.
According to Heidmar , the transaction is valued at around $200,000. The purchase was financed from existing cash reserves. The deal was finalised with effect from July. According to the announcement, no regulatory approvals or further conditions following completion are pending.
With Q-Shipping, nine vessels are being added to Heidmar’s managed fleet. At the same time, the company gains an operational presence in the Netherlands and Turkey, as well as a crewing structure in Ukraine.
According to its own figures, following the acquisition, Heidmar now manages around 50 vessels under commercial management and 16 vessels under technical management. The company views the acquisition as part of its growth strategy based on low capital expenditure.
Expansion of regional presence
Heidmar describes the Netherlands and Turkey as key maritime hubs. Through these new vessels, the company aims to be closer to shipowners and cargo flows in both markets.
“Overnight, we gain a management presence in the Netherlands and Turkey, as well as an efficient crewing operation in Ukraine. This gives us the platform and the staff to take on further mandates and expand our managed fleet in the region. This is a small investment with strategic value, reflecting the disciplined and capital-efficient approach with which we intend to build the company,” explained Heidmar CEO Pankaj Khanna.
