Everllence: “Breakthrough Order” from shipowner Dynacom

Dynacom Tankers has two crude oil tankers built in China, equipped with Everllence two-stroke engines of the new Mk10.7 generation. These are the first engines with a 70 bore, manufactured in Korea.

The 159,000 tdw tankers are being built at New Times Shipbuilding (NTS) in Jiangsu, China. The engines, which will be manufactured in Korea, will be the first 70-bore engines from Everllence’s latest Mk10.7 platform, the engine experts stated.

Everllence launched the Mk10.7 platform in November 2023 – then still as MAN Energy Solutions. Since then, models with bores from 50 to 95 cm have been available. Last year, the company received around 40 orders for Mk10.7 engines. This year, the drive manufacturer added additional bore sizes of 80 and 95 cm to the platform.

Now the order for the two-stroke engines for the tankers has been received by NTS with a 70 cm bore. “I think this shows impressively that we can reliably meet the requirements of our valued partners – be they shipyards, owners or engine builders. We are now looking to win orders for 80 and 95 bore Mk10.7 engines and I am convinced that it is only a matter of time before these engines find their way into new projects,” says Bjarne Foldager, Head of Two-Stroke Business at Everllence.

The Mk10.7 platform is the latest generation engine concept in Everllence’s two-stroke engine portfolio. According to the company, the G70ME-C10.7 engine is based on a “versatile yet simplified basic design that not only provides vessel owners with highly competitive fuel efficiency, but also enables all of Everllence’s dual-fuel retrofit options”.

“We believe that this concept is interesting for newbuildings in many segments – including Suezmax tankers, container feeders and bulk carriers, especially in the 180,000 to 210,000 tdw range,” says Susanne Kindt, Senior Vice President Engineering, Two-Stroke Business at Everllence.
