At SMM 2026, Tamsen Maritim will present the Tamsen Sea Drone, an autonomous unmanned surface vehicle (USV) developed and built for Airbus as a versatile sea target for military and industrial training applications. The system will be exhibited as a full-scale outdoor exhibit.
Measuring 6.7 m in length with a beam of 1.5 m, the Tamsen Sea Drone is designed to operate autonomously along predefined routes while remaining under continuous supervision by a ground control operator. According to the company, this combination of autonomous navigation and human oversight enables safe operation in demanding training environments and allows complex mission profiles to be carried out with a high degree of precision.
The platform has been developed to simulate realistic maritime threat scenarios for weapons testing, tactical exercises and system validation. Its robust construction is intended to enable repeated use under demanding conditions, providing a solution for long-term training programmes.
Capable of speeds exceeding 40 knots, the Tamsen Sea Drone is designed to provide the agility and manoeuvrability required for dynamic training scenarios at sea.
The project also highlights Tamsen Maritim’s activities in the design, construction and integration of specialised maritime platforms. In addition, the company will present its portfolio of five former German Navy minehunting vessels, available for sale, conversion and customised refit programmes, as well as its range of new authority patrol vessels of up to 30 m in length.
