With more than 9,000 navigation, automation and dynamic positioning products in service on around 8,000 vessels worldwide, Nacos Marine is placing its main focus at SMM 2026 on the existing fleet rather than newbuildings.
According to the company, systems installed a decade or more ago must continue to operate reliably, remain serviceable as components reach the end of their lifecycle and integrate with newer equipment as owners modernise individual systems instead of replacing an entire bridge.
Nacos Marine has developed a dedicated lifecycle and retrofit programme covering spare parts availability, field service and structured upgrade paths. Based on a modular system architecture, individual navigation, automation and dynamic positioning components can be upgraded independently without replacing the complete installation.
According to Nacos Marine, this approach allows bridge systems to keep pace with changing regulatory and operational requirements while preserving existing investments. It also enables owners to introduce new positioning reference systems and automation functions in stages, avoiding the cost and downtime associated with a full bridge replacement.
The company is also expanding its service network with additional regional hubs during 2026, providing faster access to spare parts and field-service support beyond its established markets.
At SMM, visitors will be able to discuss lifecycle and retrofit options for individual vessels and fleets with the Nacos Marine team.
