Lürssen sends new yacht “Cali” to sea trials

Lürssen can also do more than 160 m – but the latest yacht is only half as long: built by the Kröger shipyard, the “Cali” has set sail for test runs.

The latest new build from the Lürssen shipyard group is exactly 82 meters long. By comparison, the recently delivered “Luminance” is 145 meters long.

The “Cali” was built in Rendsburg at the Kröger shipyard. From there, she has now sailed across the Kiel Canal (NOK) for technical-nautical trials. Delivery to the owner is planned for the first quarter of 2024, according to reports.

The yacht’s lines were designed by Lürssen’s chief designer Robert Sluijter. The bow shape of the “Cali” is particularly striking. The equipment has been designed for outdoor activities. Particular attention has therefore been paid to the outdoor areas.

Lürssen gives “Cali” spacious outdoor areas

The yacht reportedly has a spacious beach club with large terraces and a large aft bathing platform. The 30-metre-long sun deck offers panoramic views and plenty of space for activities both during the day and in the evening. There is a jacuzzi, a lounge area, a bar and a dining area with a barbecue and pizza oven as well as an open-air cinema.

Otherwise, as is usual with such projects, not much more is known about the yacht. Launched in 2020 as build no. 13775, the new build was laid up on Kile in September. The hull is made of steel, while the superstructure is made of aluminium.
