The time charter software provider Ankeri, one of the strategic partners of the Hamburg shipping company Hapag-Lloyd, is expanding its network with a new branch office at a central shipping hub.
In addition to the headquarters in Reykjavik, Iceland, and the branch office in Hamburg, the young company, which won the SMM Start-up Award in 2022, will also be based in Singapore. “This move strengthens our growing presence in key global shipping hubs and underlines our focus on supporting customers closer to where operational and commercial decisions are made,” reads a statement.
With its system, Ankeri wants to bring shipowners, charterers and managers closer together. The focus is on a tool as a central data source for processing time charter contracts. Contract terms, ship performance and issue management are linked. In recent years, Ankeri has established cooperation with various large shipping companies, including the world’s largest container ship trawler operator Seaspan, SFL, Global Ship Lease and Ernst Russ from Germany, as well as Hapag-Lloyd via a strategic partnership.
Now comes the move to Singapore – “a central hub in global maritime trade with a high concentration of shipping activities and an established infrastructure”. The new office is intended to provide easier access and better support for shipping companies throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
