The Italian shipbuilding group Fincantieri has secured a new order for an “ultra-luxury vessel”. Marc-Henry Cruise Holding is to receive a third newbuild for the Four Seasons Yachts brand.
The state-controlled Fincantieri Group – which is also a major player in the naval sector – is thus further expanding its order book. The order, which was placed subject to financing, is said to underpin the group’s “leading position in the high-end maritime segment”. The specific value of the order has not been disclosed; it is merely described as “high”.
The Italian company is already building vessels for the Four Seasons Yachts brand, although a delivery was slightly delayed last year. The new vessel, scheduled for delivery in 2031, is set to be the third in a new class of ultra-luxury yachts designed and built at the Ancona shipyard.
‘Four Seasons I’ was delivered earlier this year. It was the first vessel to be conceived as part of Fincantieri’s ‘Navis Sapiens’ vision. No. 2 is due to follow in early 2028. No. 3, which is 207 metres long and has a gross tonnage of 34,000 GT, is also planned to feature “all-suite accommodation and an atmosphere reminiscent of a private residence”.
Pierroberto Folgiero, CEO and Managing Director of Fincantieri, explained: “The vessel, designed and built at our shipyard in Ancona, reinforces Ancona’s role as Fincantieri’s centre of excellence for the construction of ultra-luxury vessels.”
