Wärtsilä optimises maintenance of Nacos systems

With the new Nacos Connect product, Wärtsilä ANCS has developed a platform designed to optimise the onboard maintenance processes of Nacos systems.

Wärtsilä ANCS, part of the Wärtsilä Technology Group, announces that after five years of careful development, rigorous testing and extensive customer trials, it is launching a new digital platform, Nacos Connect. According to Wärtsilä, it is a comprehensive solution designed to enable end customers to optimise the functionality and serviceability of their onboard Nacos systems.

Nacos Connect includes onboard hardware, operating systems, software and various cloud services that enable customers and ANCS to improve the functionality and serviceability of Nacos systems. This should improve the user experience, reduce lifecycle costs and serve as a central component for the rapid deployment of new applications and features. This transition will bring immense benefits not only to shore-based personnel but also to crew members on board by ensuring seamless operation and an improved user experience, the company says.

Wärtsilä enables remote maintenance

“With a focus on integration, lifecycle management and ease of use, Nacos Connect sets a new standard for maritime technology solutions and marks an important milestone in our journey to revolutionise maritime operations. It is poised to redefine the way maritime companies manage their systems, streamline operations and maximize efficiency,” says Christian Skytte, Head of Product Automation, Wärtsilä ANCS.

Nacos Connect offers a range of innovative features, including the Nacos Connect IoT Gateway, which serves as an intermediary for services and integrates seamlessly with existing Nacos Platinum or Legacy ecosystems. In addition, the Nacos Connect Cloud provides customers with access to cloud products while facilitating maintenance for ANCS engineers. The platform also offers various applications and use cases, from remote mimics that extend secure automation access onboard and remotely from offices or control centres to OPC UA integration that meets the diverse needs of maritime operations.

With the new platform, Wärtsilä ANCS is also introducing comprehensive lifecycle service contracts for Nacos Connect. These contracts are tailored to ensure proactive maintenance, stability improvements and minimised system downtime throughout the product lifecycle, supported by our team of experts.
