Deltamarin, Wallenius Wilhelmsen Shaper Class car freighter

Wallenius Wilhelmsen takes more ships on order list

Wallenius Wilhelmsen draws options for two more Shaper-class vessels with a capacity of 11,700 CEU. Two freighters will be enlarged.

“Exercising our options and increasing the size of additional Shaper class vessels fits seamlessly into Wallenius Wilhelmsen’s net zero target,” says Xavier Leroi, COO Shipping Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.

Wallenius Wilhelmsen holds two further options

The two declared options are part of the four previously announced outstanding options. Delivery is expected in the second half of 2028. As part of the agreement, the shipping company continues to hold options for two additional vessels that can be declared until the second half of 2025.

The Norwegian company also says it intends to upsize two more vessels from 9,300 CEU to 11,700 CEU, bringing the total number of upsized Shaper vessels to eight.

Following the recent announcement, a total of 14 Shaper class vessels have been ordered, comprising eight vessels with a capacity of 11,700 CEU and six vessels with a capacity of 9,300 CEU.
