Bertling Shipping has today announced the appointment of Rafał Mirski as Director of Fleet Management. He took up his new post on 1 November and will be joining Bertling’s shipping team in Hamburg. According to the statement, Mirski has many years’ experience in ship management as well as extensive expertise in the fields of bulk, project and heavy-lift transport.
Mirski joins Bertling from the MPP shipping company Minship, based in Schnaittenbach, Bavaria, and Hamburg. Most recently, he had been managing director at Minmarine Shipmanagement since 2021 – the company is now part of the joint venture Bellrock Maritime following the ship management merger with the shipping company Oskar Wehr.
After several years at sea with the Peter Döhle shipping company, Mirski worked for the shipping companies Hammonia and Beluga prior to his time at Minship, before taking up the role of Fleet Manager at the Auerbach shipping company.
In his new role, Mirski is set to contribute his operational and technical experience “to further strengthen Bertling’s expertise in fleet management”. In doing so, he will support both day-to-day fleet operations and project-related activities. “His in-depth industry knowledge and leadership experience provide a valuable foundation for this,” the statement continues. The company is convinced “that Rafał will make an important contribution to our ongoing projects, complex maritime operations and the continuous development of our fleet management.”
Bertling was founded in Germany more than 160 years ago and has since developed from a local chartering and shipping company into a global logistics and shipping enterprise. One of its key areas of focus is the project cargo business. The group has a presence in 30 countries through 50 branches.
