Norden sells tanker duo and focuses on MPP market

The Danish shipping company Norden is active on the shipping market again. The shipping company managed by Jan Rindbo has announced that two ships from its own fleet have been sold.

These are an MR tanker and a Capesize bulker. With these transactions, the company intends to take advantage of the strong asset markets in the dry cargo and tanker segments to realize assets.

Meanwhile, Norden is expanding its activities in the project cargo market. Two leasing contracts for multipurpose newbuildings (MPP) with purchase options have been concluded. The units are expected to be delivered in 2028, according to the company.

According to the company, the MPP segment is benefiting from an ageing fleet, a low order book and positive demand prospects. The newbuilds are intended in particular to strengthen the transportation of general cargo and project cargo in addition to traditional bulk goods.

Norden is also pushing ahead with the previously announced share buyback program. Since the start at the end of October until December 30, 2025, a total of 170,500 shares have been bought back at an average price of DKK 249 per share.
