Game-Changer in Shipping: Kaiko Systems Secures €6 Million for AI-Powered Maintenance

Kaiko Systems, a leading artificial intelligence (AI) company specializing in maritime technology, has raised €6 million in a new funding round. The investment will fuel product development and global expansion, strengthening its position in AI-driven fleet optimization.

AI-Powered Fleet Optimization for the Maritime Industry

Major shipping companies, including OSM Thome, Columbia Shipmanagement, and TMS Cardiff Gas, rely on Kaiko Systems to streamline fleet-wide technical operations. The platform uses AI-driven analytics to process vast amounts of inspection data, detect anomalies, and enable predictive maintenance—helping shipowners reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.

“The maritime industry faces immense pressure to modernize in response to geopolitical challenges and increasing regulatory demands,” says Fabian Fussek, Co-Founder and CEO of Kaiko Systems. “This funding allows us to scale our AI-driven capabilities, enter new markets, and provide cutting-edge solutions for safer, more efficient shipping operations.”

Strategic Investment to Drive Growth

The funding round was led by Hi Inov and Flashpoint Venture Growth, with additional backing from Motion Ventures. This brings Kaiko Systems’ total external funding to €9 million, including its 2022 seed round.

“Kaiko Systems bridges the gap between frontline teams and decision-makers by leveraging AI-powered insights,” says Julius Jürging, Partner at Hi Inov. Tony Fedorov, Partner at Flashpoint Venture Growth, adds, “The shipping industry is overdue for digital transformation, and Kaiko Systems is uniquely positioned to drive this change.”

Reducing Downtime and Maximizing Efficiency

Unplanned vessel downtime can cost shipping companies up to $50,000 per ship per day. Kaiko Systems’ technology provides real-time insights to enhance operational efficiency, reduce maintenance costs, and ensure compliance. The company is also expanding its AI-powered platform into adjacent industries such as offshore energy, infrastructure maintenance, and industrial inspections.

With offices in Berlin, London, and an upcoming location in Singapore, Kaiko Systems is rapidly expanding its global footprint. As AI adoption in maritime operations accelerates, Kaiko Systems is set to become a key player in transforming ship maintenance and operational safety.
