Thomas Doepel becomes the new head of Finnlines

The shipping company Finnlines, which belongs to the Italian Grimaldi Group, is getting a new President and CEO.

Thomas Doepel has been appointed as the new CEO by the Supervisory Board with effect from 1 March 2025. Incumbent Tom Pippingsköld will then retire, according to a statement.

Both managers have been part of the RoRo/RoPax shipping company’s Executive Board team for several years, with Thomas Doepel having been promoted to COO in 2019.

The Board of Directors warmly welcomes Thomas Doepel, who will take over as the new President and CEO on 1 March 2025. Mr. Doepel has held key leadership positions at Finnlines since joining the company in 2010,” said Emanuele Grimaldi, Chairman of the Board of Directors.
