Classification society Korean Register (KR) is expanding its presence in Hamburg. Effective July 1, Daniel Thaeter will join the KR North Europe business unit.

Thaeter will become part of the Korean Register team based in Hamburg’s HafenCity. According to KR, the 49-year-old brings extensive leadership experience from his previous roles within the TB Marine Group.

In recent years, his work has focused on compliance with maritime standards, certification of branch offices, digitalisation of operational processes, and collaboration with various flag states and classification societies.

As a Designated Person Ashore (DPA) and authorized signatory in the field of HSQE (Health, Safety, Quality, Environment), Thaeter brings broad expertise. He will now serve as Senior Technical and Commercial Expert within the KR team led by Michael Suhr, providing clients with technical and commercial support.
