Woodward has delivered its 500,000th SOGAV (electromagnetically actuated gas supply valve) worldwide. According to the company, the technology is used to control gas engines across various industries.
The SOGAV regulates the gas supply in multi-point gas and dual-fuel engines. It is used, amongst other things, in power generation, data centres, and in marine, rail and mining applications. The valves are available for engines with a power output ranging from 70 kW to 1,500 kW per cylinder.
The valve meteres the gaseous fuel, thereby supporting engine operation across different engine platforms and under various operating conditions. According to Woodward, hundreds of thousands of units are in use worldwide.
According to the company, the SOGAV product family has been further developed in collaboration with customers to meet changing requirements.
