Offshore company Vestas has signed a conditional agreement with Inch Cape Offshore Limited for a new wind farm.
The project comprises of the installation and service of a 1.1 GW wind farm in the Scottish North Sea. The contract covers the supply, installation and commissioning of 72 V236-15.0 MW wind turbines for the so-called “Inch Cape Offshore Wind Project”. Vestas will provide long-term services for the wind farm.

Wind farm to supply 5 TWh of electricity
John Hill, Project Manager at Inch Cape, is confident: “When these turbines are operational, they will deliver more than 5 TWh of renewable electricity each year, making a significant contribution to the UK’s energy security and emissions reduction targets.”
The Inch Cape project site is located in the Scottish North Sea, 15 km off the coast of Angus. The installation port is located in the port of Dundee. According to current plans, Vestas will begin installing the wind turbines in 2026 and the wind farm is expected to be fully operational in 2027.
In order for the project to be considered a firm and unconditional order on Vestas‘ books, certain standard conditions precedent must still be fulfilled. Once these are fulfilled, Vestas will disclose the firm and unconditional order in accordance with its disclosure policy.
