At SMM 2026, VDMA Marine Equipment and Systems, VDMA Engines and Systems and CIMAC will once again share a joint stand, providing a meeting point for industry professionals, member companies, partners and international guests. The stand is intended to facilitate networking, knowledge exchange and discussions on technologies and solutions for the maritime industry.
A central feature will be the return of the Speakers’ Corner. The open presentation platform gives exhibitors, member companies and industry experts the opportunity to present new technologies, projects and ideas directly to SMM visitors in an informal setting.
Visitors can also make use of the stand’s barista service, which has become a regular meeting point for informal discussions and networking.
Three events organised by the VDMA stand will focus on current developments in the maritime industry. On 1 September, the panel discussion “Propulsion of the Future – What Will Power Future Global Trade?” will take place on the Energy Efficiency Stage (Hall A4, Stand A2.120), bringing together experts to discuss future propulsion technologies and energy solutions.
On 3 September, the CIMAC Circle panel discussion will be held on the Digital Stage in Hall B6, addressing current technological and regulatory developments in the maritime sector. Also on 3 September, the panel “Smarter Ships through Improved Integration with the New MTP Automation Standard” will take place on the Digital Stage in Hall B6, focusing on the role of automation standards in improving the integration and efficiency of ship operations.
