TKMS and CAE expand cooperation in marine simulation

TKMS and CAE want to expand their cooperation in training and simulation solutions for the marine sector. The companies have signed an agreement to this effect in Montreal.

The agreement builds on the existing cooperation. According to the companies, this also includes activities in connection with the Canadian Patrol Submarine Project (CPSP). At the same time, the framework for future services and further cooperation opportunities is to be created.

TKMS will contribute its experience in the development of naval platforms and life cycle support. CAE will contribute expertise in the areas of training, mission systems and simulation of long-term maintenance capabilities.

“Modern naval operations require highly adaptable training environments that evolve in parallel with emerging threats,” emphasizes TKMS CEO Oliver Burkhard. The agreement with CAE is a step towards providing integrated training and simulation solutions for navies.

CAE also emphasizes the link between technology and training. Global armed forces, including the Royal Canadian Navy, should benefit from advanced training, support for mission systems and long-term maintenance capabilities, said CAE President and CEO Matthew Bromberg.

Among other things, the companies want to develop solutions to prepare naval personnel for changing asymmetric threats. These include drone swarms, fast coastal attack boats and a growing number of unmanned systems.
