Anschütz announces a new SYNAPSIS software release with enhanced features and refinements across Radar, ECDIS and Conning applications—further strengthening performance on the integrated bridge. Designed around real operational requirements, the update improves situational awareness, streamlines workflows and reduces workload, enabling bridge teams to operate with greater clarity and confidence.
The latest release delivers a range of targeted functional enhancements. Generic Overlay enables the seamless integration of external sensor data — such as sonar or ice radar — directly into ECDIS, creating a unified operational picture on a single display and reducing the need to interpret multiple systems.
Safety in confined and shallow waters is further strengthened with Asymmetric Cross Track Distance, allowing different safety margins for port and starboard, and Shallowest Leg Depth, which provides immediate insight into underkeel clearance risks along the planned route.
Operational workflows are also improved through enhanced anchoring and harbour functions, including extended Anchor Watch capabilities as well as Harbour Mode and Blackout Mode to minimise non-essential alerts and support focused bridge operation.
Additional refinements – such as improved task access, route handling and visual adjustments – further streamline everyday navigation tasks, while the integration of features like Ship Helicopter Operating Limits (SHOL) adds support for specialised operational scenarios.
At the same time, SYNAPSIS maintains its core strength: a consistent and validated data foundation that connects Radar, ECDIS and Conning into one coherent system. All applications follow a harmonised operating logic and share the same situational picture across every workstation, reducing complexity and enabling efficient collaboration on the bridge.
As a software-defined platform, SYNAPSIS continues to evolve without compromising usability. By combining integrated functionality, consistent data and intuitive operation, it reinforces its position as a premium solution for operators who prioritise holistic, safe and future-ready navigation.
