In Stralsund, the “new yacht shipyard” Astra Nord is getting down to work: the “Ocean Dreamwalker 3” is the first project to be taken out of the water. HANSA has exclusive pictures.
Theodoros Fotiadis recently launched the shipyard as a new set-up. The renowned Greek yacht designer sees great potential for the site. And now the first refit project has also started.
The San Lorenzo yacht “Ocean Dreamwalker 3” was taken out of the water at Astra Nord in Stralsund. “This is a significant step for the shipyard in Stralsund, as it will become a new location for superyachts in northern Germany,” said Fotiadis. The manager expects more superyachts over 70 meters in length to come to Astra Nord in 2026. In addition – and this would be the next major development step – a new-build project could also follow. “There is great potential that we will start building a new 78 m yacht in 2026,” says the Astra Nord boss.
The shipyard site comprises 97,000 m² of covered, heated space, including 32,000 m² of office space and 24,000 m² of workshops. The centerpiece will be an assembly hall measuring 300 × 110 × 75 m. The infrastructure will be supplemented by an 800 t crane and a 270 m long ship lift. The first customer is the 47.2 m long “Ocean Dreamwalker III”, which came to Stralsund for a refit. At the same time, Astra Nord says it is working on several design lines in the 65 to 96 m segment, which Fotiadis believes has left a gap since Nobiskrug ceased operating in this area.
