New president for shipbrokers’ association

The international shipbrokers’ association Fonasba has a new president: Fulvio Carlini takes over from Javier Dulce. His successor has also already been appointed.

The shipbrokers want to usher in “a new era”, as they said after the election at the recent general meeting in Athens. The Fonasba Association, which also recently had a new Secretary General in Eleonora Modde and represents around 6,000 members worldwide, has now announced that it believes it is well positioned for the future with its new leadership.

The new President Carlini said: “I would like to thank Javier Dulce for his services to Fonasba during his presidency. His hard work has done much to ensure that the association is in such a good position today and provides me with a solid foundation to build on during my term as President.”

President-elect: Shipbroker Dureid Mahasneh

Outgoing President Dulce said: “I am a firm believer in teamwork. With this in mind, I would like to pay tribute to the entire board who have worked incredibly hard and I would like to thank them for their commitment. For the future, I would encourage each of you to get involved in the extensive activities that we have started in recent months.”

He said it had been an honour to chair the Federation of National Associations of Ship Brokers and Agents and he was “proud of what we have achieved together”

The Board of the Shipbrokers’ Association now consists of the following members:

  • Fulvio Carlini, President (Italy)
