New CEO for Blystad Group

Rune Magnus Lundetræ has been appointed as the new CEO of the Blystad Group “with effect from the summer”, the company has announced.

He succeeds Fredrik Platou, who worked for the shipping company for 19 years and held various management positions, including in the shipping and real estate segments.

Lundetræ brings with him almost two decades of management experience in the shipping and offshore sectors. Before joining Blystad, he was Chief Financial Officer of Eldorado Drilling, which operates in the oil and gas sector. Prior to that, he was CEO of Offshore Heavy Transport (OHT), a shipping company specializing in heavy lift cargo that was also previously controlled by Blystad.

Founded by the experienced shipping expert Arne Blystad, the family-owned company Blystad has long been active in various segments, including tankers, container ships and offshore supply vessels. The company currently has a fleet of almost 30 ships. Lundetræ is to drive the shipping company’s further growth and at the same time uphold the family company’s values of “trust and long-term cooperation”, the company announced via Linkedin.
