The liquefied gas specialist MAN Cryo has developed an ammonia fuel supply system for marine engines and has now been given the green light by the classification societies DNV and Bureau Veritas.

MAN Cryo has now announced that it has received an AiP (Approval-in-Principle) certificate from DNV and Bureau Veritas for the design of an ammonia fuel supply system for the safe supply of ammonia to marine engines.

The company specializes in systems for the storage, distribution and handling of liquefied gases and is part of MAN Energy Solutions. The system was developed jointly with the Chinese company Yada Green Energy Solutions, with whom MAN Cryo has previously collaborated on the supply of equipment for the marine fuels LNG and methanol.

MAN Cryo cooperates with Yada

Xiang Guangqing, CEO of Yada Green Energy Solutions, said: “No one can solve the problem of climate change alone. We are convinced that we will only succeed by working together.” MAN Cryo and Yada would also cooperate with other industry players, focusing on innovation and collaboration.

Henrik Malm, Managing Director, MAN Energy Solutions Sweden, said: “We are pleased that MAN Cryo has reached an important strategic milestone in cooperation with Yada Green Energy Solutions.” Ship owners can rest assured that a market-ready solution will be delivered that meets the highest safety standards thanks to state-of-the-art technologies.
