Almost exactly two years after the steel hull for the 134-metre megayacht, known under the project name “Deep Blue”, was moved into the floating dock at the Lürssen shipyard in Bremen-Aumund, preparations are now being made for its launch.
Wild speculation surrounds the identity of the yacht’s future owner, who, as is customary in this industry, has not been disclosed by Lürssen.
Construction of this mysterious megayacht began back in 2021, with all project details kept strictly confidential by the shipyard until now. In July 2023, the nearly complete steel hull — at that time only 120 metres long — was launched at Lürssen’s Lemwerder facility and subsequently manoeuvred into the 219-metre covered floating dock on the opposite side of the River Weser.

It was only in the dock that the prefabricated bow section was joined to the rest of the vessel. As is standard in yacht building, the superstructure is made from aluminium. Industry insiders, judging by the now structurally complete yacht with its light-coloured coating, estimate a gross tonnage of around 9,000 GT. Four guest decks will be available for passengers.
The yacht, classified by DNV and expected to be delivered by Lürssen Yachts by the end of 2025, is reportedly powered by eight high-performance MTU engines as part of a diesel-electric propulsion system.
