Knaack & Jahn highlights retrofitting and piping solutions

Knaack & Jahn will present its portfolio at SMM 2026 under the motto “The 4-Dimension Specialists”. The four core dimensions in shipbuilding services and modern retrofitting are piping, steelwork, HVACR and fire protection. The company is headquartered in Hamburg and has branch offices in Bremen and Kiel.

The product and service portfolio includes the installation, replacement and retrofit of thermal oil, exhaust and freshwater systems, hydraulic lines and systems, as well as piping on entire decks and in fire zones. The company also installs ballast water treatment systems for both newbuildings and retrofit projects.

In addition to flushing hydraulic systems, Knaack & Jahn provides its own flushing units equipped with a calibrated particle analyser. According to the company, thorough flushing during installation and maintenance helps prevent damage or system failures caused by contaminants in the hydraulic fluid.

In the field of fire protection, the portfolio covers water-based suppression systems, including sprinkler and water mist systems, as well as gas suppression systems such as FK-5-1-12 and CO₂ systems.

Knaack & Jahn also emphasises a cost-conscious approach to complex projects, as owners need reliable cost calculations for modern conversions and retrofit programmes. According to the company, clear communication and well-structured processes are essential for transparent costing and support its quality and full-service approach.

“This is what Knaack & Jahn stands for with the pledge they make to their clients – we deliver,” the company states.

Visitors will easily find the booth thanks to its blue-and-white lighthouse.
