Josephides moves to the top of the Chamber of Shipping in Cyprus

With Thomas Kazakos’ move to the ICS, his former deputy Alexandros Josephides is moving to the top of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber.

Josephides will be the new Director General of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber (CSC) from April. He succeeds Thomas Kazakos, who will take over from Guy Platten as Secretary General of the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS) in London.

Josephides has worked for the Chamber for almost 30 years. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in mechanical engineering and began his career in 1986, most recently as the organisation’s Deputy Secretary General and Marine Manager.

“I am determined to build on the solid foundations already in place and represent the interests of the Cypriot shipping industry, while maintaining the important role of our industry on the global stage,” Josephides is quoted as saying.
