Heidmar enters technical ship management with Landbridge

The shipping company Heidmar is expanding its portfolio to include technical ship management with the “absorption” of Landbridge Ship Management (LBSM).

Heidmar and LBSM have now announced the collaboration, which represents a step forward in Heidmar’s expansion following a number of restructuring measures in recent years.

The companies announced that they were expanding their range of services to include technical ship management “by incorporating Landbridge Ship Management from Hong Kong into the Heidmar Group”, without going into further details of the acquisition.

Huwell Group, the owner of five modern VLCC-class large tankers, has decided that Heidmar is best suited to further develop and grow LBSM. This strategic initiative is the result of a strong relationship and collaboration that has developed over the past three years, it is said.

Heidmar wants to expand its fleet

LBSM has “earned an enviable reputation as an operator of a modern VLCC fleet with very good relationships with major oil companies and a strong track record of securing long-term time charter contracts with first-class charterers,” the statement said. Heidmar’s aim is to use this base to expand its fleet in the tanker sector and other shipping markets.

Pankaj Khanna, CEO of Heidmar emphasized: “The introduction of Technical Management is an important milestone for us. As a former seafarer, I know the invaluable contribution seafarers make to the global economy. We remain resolutely committed to the men and women who serve on board ships around the world. Their safety, well-being, career development and success are the key pillars of our success.”

Celebrating its 40th anniversary this year, Heidmar is a commercial manager with over 60 tankers and bulkers under management. Until now, the company has mainly been known for commercial management, chartering and asset management consultancy. With the introduction of technical management, the company aims to expand its expertise to include aspects such as crewing, ship operations and maintenance.

The CEO of Huwell Services Limited, Stone Xu, said: “In the future, Huwell Group will explore further opportunities to grow together with Heidmar in various areas of shipping.”
