Law firm Weiland hires two more experts

Weiland, the law firm for maritime and insurance law, has gained two well-known experts from the industry: Maximilian Guth and Ester Mallach.

The Hamburg maritime law firm Weiland Rechtsanwälte has been strengthened at the beginning of the year. Maximilian Guth has joined as a new and fourteenth partner. Esther Mallach joins the team as off-counsel for special tasks, as the firm announces. Both maritime experts previously worked for the law firm Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein.

Maximilian Guth, a partner at his previous law firm for many years and most recently head of the insurance practice group, is considered a specialist in maritime commercial law in addition to insurance law. In addition to advising clients in the transport insurance, shipping and agricultural sectors, he has conducted various court proceedings.

Esther Mallach joined Dabelstein & Passehl (today: Arnecke Sibeth Dabelstein) in 1991, where she became a partner in 1996. She had only recently changed to Off-Counsel status.

Weiland strengthens maritime expertise

Weiland’s main aim in expanding the team is to strengthen the maritime insurance department, explained Sven Claussen, managing partner of the law firm. With their experience, Guth and Mallach “complement our expertise in major maritime claims, maritime trade law and the offshore wind sector.”

Founded in 1970, Weiland has been active in the market for over 50 years, with offices in Paris and Stuttgart in addition to its Hamburg office at Kaiserkai near the Elbphilharmonie concert hall. Transport insurance has been one of the firm’s specialities from the very beginning. Founder and senior partner Gerd Gustav Weiland was a member of the Gothaer Group supervisory board for many years.
