Gemak Group unveils InnoSpool 3D system

With more than 56 years of experience and over 3,000 completed projects worldwide, Gemak Group provides ship repair, conversion and newbuilding services. The company employs more than 160 engineers and operates modern facilities supported by high-capacity lifting infrastructure.

At SMM 2026, Gemak will present InnoSpool 3D, a system developed for pipe renewal during ship repair projects.

While pipe scanning and the preparation of isometric drawings are already established methods in the maritime industry, InnoSpool 3D is designed to replicate existing pipes with a high degree of accuracy. Using in-house 3D laser tracking technology, pipes can be scanned and measured in place without dismantling existing systems, allowing vessel operations to continue while the relevant systems remain in service.

The recorded data is converted into digital models before new pipes are manufactured in the workshop. According to Gemak, the process ensures precise alignment prior to production.

If required, measurement, fabrication and delivery can be completed while the vessel is underway. According to the company, this reduces onboard intervention, minimises downtime and supports more efficient repair operations.
