The claims and risk management service provider Gallagher Bassett is expanding its portfolio with yet another acquisition. This is not the first transaction of this kind in recent months.
The parent company, Arthur J. Gallagher & Co., has announced that Gallagher Bassett, a firm specialising in claims and risk management solutions, has acquired the London-based law firm Winter & Co Solicitors.
Winter & Co is a law firm specialising in maritime law, which advises P&I clubs, transport insurers, shipping companies and charterers, and possesses expertise in maritime legal matters. Glenn Winter and his team are to remain at their current location and work under the leadership of Manan Sagar, who is responsible for Gallagher Bassett’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the financial details of the transaction. Arthur J. Gallagher & Co. is headquartered in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, and operates in around 130 countries.
Gallagher is thus continuing on its expansion course, which has recently also taken the firm to Germany: Reck & Co. in Bremen was acquired in February, followed in May by the acquisition of Mays Brown Solicitors. Just a few days ago, the takeover of the New Zealand firm Albany Insurance was announced.
