At SMM 2026, Fehrmann Windows and Apprisify will present two complementary solutions for maritime and safety-critical applications. Both companies are part of the Hamburg-based Fehrmann Tech Group.
The focus will be on pressure-resistant window systems for demanding operating conditions and digital head-up display technologies that provide information directly within the crew’s field of vision.
Fehrmann Windows develops window systems for shipbuilding and defence-related applications. The systems are designed to withstand high mechanical loads, pressure and extreme temperatures and are intended for environments where safety, reliability and technical precision are essential.
Apprisify complements these solutions with augmented reality technology combining specialised hardware and software. Navigation, system and environmental data can be displayed directly over the real-world view outside the vessel, allowing crews to access relevant information without continuously looking at separate displays.
The technology is used in both civilian and military applications. Together with the Bundeswehr Cyber Innovation Hub, Apprisify has equipped a German Navy corvette with several systems. According to the company, the technology is intended to support reconnaissance, navigation and other safety-critical operations by displaying information according to the operational context.
Both solutions are designed to improve maritime safety through robust components, enhanced situational awareness and faster access to information. While Fehrmann Windows focuses on the physical interface between the vessel and its surroundings, Apprisify adds a digital layer to that interface.
The solutions are suitable for both newbuild and retrofit projects and can be adapted to different vessel types as well as civilian and military applications.
