Europort Istanbul celebrates a successful comeback

The maritime trade fair Europort Istanbul successfully kicked off on Wednesday. After a nine-year break, the maritime industry is once again gathering at the Bosporus.

400 exhibitors from 45 countries are showcasing their products in Istanbul. Exhibition manager Raymond Siliakus is pleased with the successful restart of the event, now in its seventh edition. Siliakus was particularly delighted by the country pavilions from China, Poland, Greece, and the Netherlands.

126 shipyards located around Istanbul

Turkey’s maritime industry has a long history and ranks among the world’s leading shipbuilding and shipping nations. Istanbul boasts one of the largest shipbuilding clusters globally, with approximately 126 shipyards located in the nearby regions of Tuzla, Yalova, and Izmit.

These shipyards are often multifunctional, offering not only new builds but also conversions, repairs, and maintenance services.

The trade fair runs until 25 October. However, as Raymond Siliakus reveals, the next edition is already in the pipeline and scheduled for 2026.
