Ex-GEFO manager Sven Schwarz is to become the new CEO of the Essberger Group. By decision of the Rantzau family, he will succeed Michael Triskatis from January 1, 2024.
The DAL/JTE Group occupies a leading position in the chemical tanker market. “Together with my future colleagues, I want to continue on this course,” Sven Schwarz posted on LinkedIn. Providing safe, high-quality and climate-friendly services for chemical customers remains the company’s mission. [ds_preview]
Schwarz was Group CEO of the tanker shipping company GEFO (Hamburg/Duisburg) with more than 120 ships (sea and inland) in its fleet until October 2022. He now succeeds Triskatis at DAL/JTE, who had managed the business together with Jan Eghøj since May 2021.
Essberger is in the tanker business with Stolt
The Rantzau Group entered into a joint venture with Stolt Tankers for parcel tankers. Schwarz will also take care of E&S Tankers “to create value for customers and stakeholders.”
The DAL liner service was last sold to Hapag-Lloyd in the spring of last year. Just over a year earlier, the feeder carrier United Africa Feeder Line (UAFL) was sold.
In March 2022, it was announced that the Rantzau Group would focus entirely on European chemical shipping in future. E&S Tankers is the market leader in this segment with a fleet of almost 50 ships. The second existing division, Essberger Dry Cargo, also has potential for expansion.
