Dominik Stehle is joining the Hamburg-based shipping company SAL Heavy Lift to strengthen the management team. The experienced manager comes from Deugro.
Dominik Stehle is taking on a management position at the shipping company SAL Heavy Lift in Hamburg, which is part of the Harren Group. He joins the previously three-man management team and will be primarily responsible for projects and commercial management. This also includes the “Orca” newbuildings and other units in the fleet.
Most recently, Stehle moved from United Heavy Lift (UHL) in October last year , where he held the position of CCO (Chief Commercial Officer), and returned to the global project logistics provider Deugro in the same role, having previously served as Executive Vice President and member of the Executive Board for more than a decade. “But my heart beats for shipping, so I’m looking forward to working with a first-class team at SAL in the future,” Stehle told HANSA.
Stehle previously worked for Zeamarine
Before joining UHL, Stehle worked for eleven months as CCO for the then heavy-lift shipping company Zeamarine, which he left at the end of 2019 due to differences of opinion about the strategic course. A few months later, in spring 2020, Zeamarine went into insolvency and was wound up.
In this respect, things have come full circle: the US shipping company Intermarine, then still part of Zeamarine, is now part of the Harren Group and has been operating with SAL and the Dutch heavy-lift specialist Jumbo Shipping in the JSI Alliance, in which commercial activities are bundled, since February 2024.
At SAL, Stehle will strengthen the current three-member management team under CEO and owner Martin Harren, which includes Sebastian Westphal, Sören Bibow and Jens Baumgarten.
