Digitalisation: experts provide insights at SMM

What are the real benefits of digitalisation in day-to-day business? Representatives from Hapag-Lloyd, Peter-Döhle, Columbia Shipmanagement and the Wilhelmsen Group will be reporting on this at the Inmarsat conference.

The communications provider is hosting the event on 4 September as part of SMM. HANSA.news is also on board as a media partner.

To address the benefits of digitalisation, Inmarsat and HANSA.news are hosting the seminar entitled ‘Business value of maritime digitalisation – Harnessing the power of AI, IoT, and connectivity for digital efficiency and growth’. The aim of this event is to shed light on how modern digital technologies can improve business processes.

The one-and-a-half hour seminar will focus on the transformative impact of advanced technologies such as AI, IoT and enhanced connectivity in the maritime industry.

The session will bring together a diverse group of participants, including ship owners and operators, technology innovators and research organisations, all coming together to discuss the evolving dynamics of the maritime industry.

Leading shipping company representatives talk about digitalisation

Donya-Florance Amer, Chief Information and Human Resources Officer at Hapag-Lloyd AG, will be one of the panellists. She will provide insights into the digital world of Hapag-Lloyd – one of the largest container shipping companies in the world.

Other speakers will include Pankaj Sharma from Performance Optimisation Control Room at Columbia Shipmanagement. Marty Cochrane, CEO Ceataec a Wilhelmsen Group Company, and Matthias Bloete, Director, Finance, Controlling & Corporate Development at Peter Döhle Schiffahrts-KG, will also be present.

Inmarsat is also sending real experts to the podium. Among others, Ben Palmer. President of Inmarsat Maritime. He will be joined by Marco Camporeale, Vice President of Strategy and Business Development at Inmarsat Maritime. The discussion will be moderated by Janne Silden, an experienced podcaster at HANSA.news global.

How to take part?

The seminar ‘Business Value of Maritime Digitalisation’ will take place on Wednesday, 4 September, from 12:00 to 13:30 in the Osaka conference room at Hamburg Messe. Following the seminar, participants are invited to a networking lunch, which will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss the insights gained during the event.
