Dyrskjøt Boesen was most recently Group CFO at Sonnedix, an international manufacturer of solar and wind energy technology. Prior to that, she held management positions at Total Energies and worked for Maersk Oil for almost ten years, including as Head of Strategy, CFO Growth Division and Chief Financial Officer UK. Her time at Maersk Oil was preceded by positions at the Danish energy company Dong Energy (now Örsted), most recently as Vice President.
In her new role as Group CFO at the ferry operator, a key focus will be on improving financial performance, including standardising processes, and helping to achieve the financial targets set for 2026, the company said. “DFDS’ environmental transition will also be a high priority as Karen has extensive experience in energy companies,” the company said.
Claus Valentin Hemmingsen, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the shipping company, said: “Karen Dyrskjøt Boesen brings strong and diverse financial and business skills to our management team. Her extensive experience in various energy companies will be of great benefit to us as we transition to a green energy supply.”
Dyrskjøt Boesen succeeds Karina Deacon in the CFO role, whose planned resignation was announced by the shipping company in November 2023.
