Launching at ZPMC-Werf

Chipolbrok’s next MPP hits the water

The Polish-Chinese shipping company Chipolbrok is expanding its fleet. Another new-generation heavy lift vessel has been launched in the form of the newbuild “Wyspiański”.

The MPP newbuilding is being built by the Chinese shipyard ZPMC in Qidong. It is the first ship in a new series of modern multipurpose heavy lift vessels for Chipolbrok. The sister ship “Chełmoński” was launched a few days earlier.

The new ship class marks the next phase of the company’s fleet expansion following the recent delivery of the “Kopernik” (62,000 dwt). The vessels are designed for the transportation of oversized and heavy project cargo, including offshore and wind energy components. A striking feature is the forward deckhouse, which maximizes the available loading area.

According to the shipping company, the vessels are specially designed for the growing heavy lift and offshore market. Their large cargo holds enable the transportation of massive industrial plants and components for wind turbines.

The ZPMC shipyard also has two more ships of the same series already under construction. Chipolbrok says it is thus pursuing its strategy of further expanding its position in the global project cargo and heavy lift market.

Chipolbrok is continuing a tradition with its naming, referring to well-known Polish artists. Stanisław Wyspiański was a Polish writer, Józef Chełmoński a painter.
