The shipping company Chipolbrok, whose MPP ships are often found in German ports, is reorganising its management in the shipping sector and at the Gdynia site.

The state-owned Chinese-Polish joint venture Chipolbrok has now announced that Radoslaw Chmielinski has taken over the position of Managing Director at the branch in Gdynia.

At the same time, Janusz Kuzmicki has been appointed to the position of Director of the Shipping Department. He was previously Commercial Manager on the Polish side. Both managers are well-known in the MPP industry and have been important contacts for cargo customers, ports and shipping company partners for many years.

Arkadiusz Kłosowski has been appointed commercial manager at the Chipolbrok office in Gdynia. He has been a long-standing employee of the shipping company, which celebrated its 70th anniversary in 2021.

Chipolbrok ranks 5th in the world market

Hamburg-based broker Toepfer Transport currently ranks the shipping company fifth in the global market for fleets with more than 100 tons of combined crane capacity. In the business with more than 240 tons of combined crane capacity, Chipolbrok is ranked 6th. The shipping company relies primarily on relatively large vessels. A newbuilding program is currently being integrated into the fleet. A total of six units have been ordered. The ships are being built by the Chinese shipyard Chengxi Shipyard. The large MPP freighters with a carrying capacity of 62,000 tons are 199.9 m long, 32.26 m wide and have a draught of 13.5 m. Five cargo holds have a total capacity of 75,000 m³. The crane capacities on the port side are 2 x 80 tons fore and aft and 2 x 150 tons amidships.

The Chipolbrok fleet comprises 30 ships, including ten so-called “Orkan” types of 30,300 dwt each and four “Pacific” types (31,600 dwt).
