The shipping company joint venture Ocean Network Express (ONE) has appointed Tomohiro Hosaka as the new Managing Director for the Europe and Africa region.
The shipping company joint venture Ocean Network Express (ONE) has appointed Tomohiro Hosaka as its new Managing Director for the Europe and Africa region. He will take up the position on April 1. His predecessor Takahiro Kikuchi is leaving the post after three years and moving to a new management position in Asia.
Hosaka was most recently Director Corporate and Innovation for the Europe and Africa region for three years. Prior to that, he worked as Vice President Corporate and Innovation for ONE’s Latin America region and as President of ONE Chile. He joined the company there in 2019.
According to the company, Hosaka brings extensive international experience from various markets, including China and North and South America. His professional background includes roles in expanding NYK Line’s marketing activities in China and responsibility for RoRo transportation in the Americas.

As the industry faces major challenges globally, my top priority is to ensure that our service standards remain lean and agile and meet the evolving needs of our customers at the highest level,” said Tomohiro Hosaka on his appointment.
In his new role, Hosaka will be supported by Board Directors Stanley Smulders (Product and Network), Dan Miura (Marketing and Commercial) and Masashi Hamada (Corporate and Innovation).
ONE is the joint venture of the Japanese shipping companies NYK, MOL and K-Line and currently ranks No. 6 in the global market.
