Evangelos Marinakis’ shipping company, Capital-Executive Ship Management, has taken delivery of four new container ships.
The ships are part of a larger series. This brings the Piraeus-based company’s fleet to 36. Capital-Executive Ship Management has taken delivery of the newly delivered container ships “Adonis”, “Anaxagoras”, “Acheloos” and “Acastos”. Each of the four newbuildings was built by HD Hyundai Mipo in South Korea, as were the previously delivered sister ships in the fleet.
Capital Ship Management continues to grow
The container ships have a capacity of 2,862 TEU, of which 604 can be reefer containers. The deckhouse has been raised to improve visibility. For increased energy efficiency, the ships are equipped with an optimised hull design and intelligent technologies. Advanced systems will ensure safe navigation, while the safety of crew and cargo will be supported by CCTV and augmented reality.
The ships are prepared for the use of alternative power sources as well as scrubber systems for cleaning exhaust gases. In the future, they will also be able to run on LNG.
Capital-Executive Ship Management, led by Greek entrepreneur Evangelos Marinakis, currently operates a fleet of 36 ships, including 27 container ships and nine bulkers. The total tonnage is 2.52 million tons and the container capacity is 111,320 TEU. The fleet under management includes ships from the shipping company Capital Product Partners.
