Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore (BV) will use SMM 2026 to present a series of events focusing on how digitalisation is reshaping classification and shipping.
A key highlight will be AGS 3D, the company’s digital inspection solution, which transforms survey data into 3D models of vessels and offshore assets. Using AI-enabled analytics, AGS 3D is designed to detect, locate and map corrosion, cracks and structural anomalies, creating a digital record of an asset’s condition. According to BV, the system supports more consistent inspections, predictive maintenance and data-driven asset management, helping owners optimise maintenance planning, improve vessel availability and maximise asset value.
BV will also present its remote inspection techniques (RIT), which combine drone technology with the expertise of specially trained surveyors to inspect hazardous and hard-to-reach spaces. According to the company, the approach reduces the need for confined-space entry and minimises vessel downtime while capturing inspection data. Integrated with AGS 3D and AI-enabled inspection analytics, RIT is designed to support asset assurance and help owners meet compliance and classification requirements.
Alongside its digital inspection technologies, BV will showcase its classification and advisory services supporting the maritime energy transition. These include alternative fuels, future-ready ship design, regulatory compliance, risk management and decarbonisation strategies.
