On 1 January 2025, Sebastian von Hardenberg will become the new Managing Director of Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement (BSM).
He has been with the company since 2005, most recently as Chief Financial Officer. CEO Ian Beveridge will also remain on the management board.
Beveridge will “continue to support BSM as Chairman of the Board and bring his extensive experience and strategic acumen to the continued development of the ship management company,” the company said.
On the occasion of von Hardenberg’s appointment, he said: “As a long-standing CFO of BSM and current Vice President of InterManager, Sebastian knows the company and the industry extremely well and has proven himself in various positions within the Schulte Group. I am convinced that with his experience and skills, he is the ideal choice to drive the strategic and organisational development of BSM in the coming years.”
Von Hardenberg has worked for Schulte since 2005
“I am honoured by the trust placed in me and look forward to the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead,” said von Hardenberg. The shipping industry is undergoing fundamental change, and issues such as the digital transformation, the increasing demands of decarbonisation and the shortage of skilled workers are having a lasting impact on the market. “I look forward to driving BSM’s strategy forward at a time when change and constant transformation are essential.”
Von Hardenberg has worked for the Schulte Group since 2005. From 2006 to 2009, he was Head of Controlling at Bernhard Schulte, the company’s shipping company, before taking on the role of Finance Director at BSM Germany. After several career stages in Hong Kong, Cyprus and Singapore, where he held positions including Executive Assistant to the CEO and Director of Business Risk, he was appointed Chief Financial Officer of BSM in 2015.
