The Turkish shipping company Arkas Line is further expanding its fleet in order to improve service quality. With the deployment of a second Arkas-owned ship on the USA Express Service (USX), Arkas Line has now doubled its capacity.
Arkas Line has significantly expanded its USA route, which provides seamless and reliable service from Turkey and surrounding regions to the East Coast of the United States. There are now two Arkas vessels operating on the route: the 2,824 TEU “Sine A” and the newly added “Emma A”, also with a capacity of 2,837 TEU, which has been upgraded with a scrubber to make it more environmentally friendly.
With this development, Arkas Line has effectively doubled its capacity on the US line. The USX service operates seven vessels per week on the following route: Mersin – Istanbul (Kumport) – Izmit (Evyap) – Gemlik (Gemport) – Izmir (Aliaga) – New York – Norfolk – Savannah – Mersin.
Arkas Line aims to strengthen trade between Turkey and the USA: With a growing fleet and an expanded logistics network, the company connects ports in the Mediterranean, Black Sea, Africa and India with US markets via the Red Sea. The expansion aims to offer shorter transit times and more competitive transportation solutions in all regions.
