If you don’t want to wait years for your new yacht, you can now order a semi-custom model from Abeking & Rasmussen.
The platform named “Aruby” was presented by the shipyard for the first time at the Palm Beach International Boat Show. Aruby is a 70-metre semi-custom yacht that will complement the shipyard’s range of fully customized superyachts in the future.
The concept of the 1,770-gt yacht was developed in close collaboration with the design studio Reymond Langton Design.
Shorter delivery times
“Aruby” addresses a market demand for faster availability without compromising on quality, according to the shipyard. As a “ready-to-build” concept, it uses a proven, technically optimized platform based on decades of experience and customer feedback.
“With ‘Aruby’, we offer a turnkey path to yacht ownership that doesn’t require an in-house build team or years of pre-planning, but still guarantees the full dedication of our boutique shipyard,” says Till von Krause, Sales Director Yacht at Abeking & Rasmussen.
Quiet and “future-fuel-ready”
At the heart of the “Aruby” concept is a diesel-electric drive that is already designed for future generations of sustainable fuels. According to A&R, the use of a pod drive system and the knowledge gained from minehunter shipbuilding enables it to achieve exceptionally low noise and vibration levels.
The single-tier engine room is a technical highlight: as the generators are soundproofed on one level, there is significantly more space for luxury and comfort in the rest of the ship.
Autonomy and discretion
The layout of the “Aruby” follows the concept of “New Luxury”. Spacious owner’s suites, two salons and a spacious beach club create an atmosphere of freedom. A special focus is placed on maximum autonomy for guests: intelligent self-service options allow the service to be extremely discreet while maximizing privacy on board.
Whether as a “private hub” for remote working and homeschooling or as a charter yacht with an attractive return on investment – according to the shipyard, “Aruby” adapts flexibly to any lifestyle.
